Hydrographical services

Hydrographic survey data is used for purposes of vessel traffic organisation and navigation safety, including the identification of underwater objects that are dangerous to shipping.

The recorded data provides an opportunity to follow changes on seabed and to help to control the technical condition of hydrotechnical structures.

In addition to the preparation of survey plans, our task is to participate in the planning and control of port waterways dredging works until their full completion.

Our range of services include:

LVR Fleet hydrographic services are provided by highly qualified hydrographic specialists with more than 20 years of experience. In 2023, two of our specialists obtained ‘’B’’ category certificates after successfully completing special hydrography training at Skilltrade in accordance with the standards of the International Hydrographic Organization. Thanks to the high qualification of our specialists, LVR Fleet provides hydrographic services in accordance with the international standards and quality requirements.

We use 2 specially equipped hydrographic vessels LĪNE and LĪVA for seabed survey. In 2022, an unmanned surface vehicle – OTTER was added to our fleet, which is the first drone of its kind in the Baltic States. OTTER increases the mobility of the LVR Fleet in providing hydrographic services not only in the port, but also in other water bodies. With OTTER, we have already made surveys in the Riga Freeport, lake Dridzis, Riga City canal, Ogre HPP, Freeport of Ventspils, Plavinas HPP, Liepaja SEZ, Lielupe river in Jurmala and Jelgava.

The vision of LVR Fleet is to be the highest quality port technical service provider in Latvia
